Scott Isaacs, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E. is a board-certified endocrinologist in Atlanta, Georgia and a faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a medical consultant for ABC Television Network and CNN and is the medical director for the HMR Program for Weight Management at Atlanta Endocrine Associates. Since 1998, Dr. Isaacs has focused his medical practice on weight loss through hormonal balance.

Dr. Isaacs is the author of several best-selling books on hormones and weight loss including Hormonal Balance: How to Lose Weight by Understanding Your Hormones and Metabolism (3rd Edition), The Leptin Boost Diet and Beat Overeating Now! He has published clinical and basic science research on diabetes, thyroid and obesity in peer-reviewed medical journals. His articles have been referenced and cited in many subsequent publications, including a listing as a primary reference in the 2012 Endocrine Society Clinical Practice Guideline: Management of Hyperglycemia in Hospitalized Patients. Dr. Isaacs attended Emory College and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Psychology. Research from work in the Emory Honors Program resulted in his first publication on hormones and the brain in 1991. He went on to Emory University School of Medicine, continuing for his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Endocrinology, Lipids, Diabetes and Metabolism, where he received a research grant from the National Institutes of Health and won an award from the American College of Physicians for published research on diabetes and obesity. A frequent speaker to national and international groups, Dr. Isaacs is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (F.A.C.P.) and the American College of Endocrinology (F.A.C.E.).

Dr. Isaacs is past president of the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and currently serves as a committee member on a national level. Dr. Isaacs is past president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Atlanta Diabetes Association.

Dr. Isaacs has been honored with numerous awards, including being listed in Castle Connolly Top Doctors, Best Physician in Lifestyles Magazine and Best Hormone Doctor in BestSelf Magazine. Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels has called Dr. Isaacs the “guru of all things hormonal.” The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists lists Dr. Isaacs’ books as a resource for practicing endocrinologists.
